Not padded well enough for our uses friend. Pool noodle over PVC either a) wouldn't pass or B) wouldn't pass for more'en 1 practice.
Neither would the shield last very long, but it actually would be passable; if you put more than 1 layer of foam on the face and doubled the pipe insulation up on the edges.
Oh and put a cloth cover over everything.

Stubbie, you forget that artimis uses pool noodles for all her weapons and they never fail, well her stabbies do but not the weapons.

THe weapons level 2/3 are decent. I wouldn't use as muck duct tapt though. We can get you over to a build session sometime soon and go throught it with you. If not, please watch Eryndor's tutorial or read the creation guidelines.

If anyone wants to pitch in some for a build session I'm willing to throw in a bit extra and I can put in an order w/ McMaster-Carr for some fiberglass rods & evalite foam if anyone's interested.
I'm really wanting to put together a solid strap round shield and a blue for now. I have a lot of interest in messing around with a red 50", but everything I've looked at has said I should learn sword + board first.

Forget, I did not. She uses graphite cores, not PVC...at least that she's told me of anyway. Also she will destroy her weapon several times over the course of a weekend event.

Yea she does use graphite, but she only destroys the covers, becuase she does not sew them on she tapes them, and she kills her stabby tips.

No she "blows out" the tips, or the equivalent there-of. Core pushes through the foam to poke out. And her stabbies die 'cuz she leaves'em nekkid, jus all out there, no stiffer foam to take any damage for it and shreads the OC.

Shalbaal, you might want to start a new thread about a mcmastercarr order.

I think the general rule at NS practices is you must go single blue or single blue and board for your first three practices if its your first time playing dagorhir.
I would even go sword and board for a couple more times after that so that why you are comfortable with the rules and know how to safely play the game.
