"How much farther until we reach the village? I'm pretty sure we're not going to make it before nightfall. Any ideas on where to set up camp?"
He finishes wiping the blood off his dagger on a deceased thug's shirt and stands up, two rather messy bodies lay on either side of him.
He inspects his dagger again, wipes it on the grass once more, and tucks it carefully in his belt. Looking up at the rapidly dimming sky, Peasant turns back to Ematai, who is in the process of looting one of the bodies.
"Find anything?" says Peasant, standing over Ematai, a wry smile on his face.

Ematai reached her hand into his belt pouch and smiled. Her hand found coins. She counted them with only her hand and smiled. There were twenty there. She brought her hand out of his pouch and quickly untied it. She retied it on her belt and then moved on to the first guy she had killed.
On him she found only three coins and a small necklace with, she decided, a fake ruby. She pursed her lips as she drew out her measly findings and tossed Peasant a coin with the necklace. "You can have half, since you helped to kill him," she smiled at him as she stood up. She looked at the last guy, the one that she didn't kill.
"Are you going to..uhm. Ya know, find anything on him?" she motioned towards the dead man lying at Peasant's feet. She half smiled at Peasant then shook her head. "Doesn't matter. We must keep going. These woods, as you had said back at the creek, arn't safe. Plus, we have to get you to the village. Come," she turned around, gazing at her surroundings, then strode off down the path. Her eyes on the big boulder with the tree on top of it. They were getting closer.
That scared Ematai. She didn't want to come back here, they would remember her, considering it's only been a couple days since she had left the village. She nervously figured the necklace around her neck as her mind traveled back to when she had acquired it.

Peasant notices Ematai's distress at the fact they were getting close to the village. He eyes the darkening sky and the slowly sinking sun. Turning to Ematai, he says:
"Well it's getting a bit dark for travel," (a lie, since they had another hour of light left, in which they would easily reach the village)
His face breaks into a small smile as he throws another curious glance at Ematai, fidgeting with her necklace. He wanted to hear his companion's story, and this was the perfect oppurtunity to pry it from her.
"would you mind camping out here? I can hold out another day if you can..."

Ematai looked at the night sky and the surrounds around them. They could easily get to the village by nightfall if they hurried, but she turned around and smiled at Peasant. "That would probably be the wisest decision." She lost her smile as she started to gather wood for the fire.
"We should switch guarding us throughout the night. A couple hours each, yes? Would you like to take the first or second shift?" she asked Peasant as she laid a handful of dry sticks in a pile. She then started to clear a spot and lay large stones in a circle. She then started to search for larger sticks.
Once she gathered enough to satisfy herself, she decided to rest. She sat down watching the flames, her back against a tree. She laid her sword out next to her and she opened her pouch full of nuts and berries. She offered some to Peasant, thinking he might be hungry. She also wondered about his arm, how he was holding up, but didn't ask any pestering questions.

"Lost again..." Rowan says to himself as he trudges through this unknown forest. Its been at least three days sence he got sepperated from his tribe. The big tribesman was about to settle in for another cold night when he smells wood smoke.
Rowan is about the least graceful person you could meet, unless he is doing one of two things... hunting and fighting. Both of which he lived for. The big man starts slowly creeping up through the brush, off any paths, t'words the smell of a small campfire.
Once he sights the glow of a small flame, he notices those around its meager light. A very young boy who sems to be favoring his arm... maybe its wounded. Also, a resting form... short, slight... female, but with a small hand clutching a sword.
The large tribesman sets himself down a few paces outside the light of the fire to study these two people. And as patient as a rock he will sit.
Untill he falls asleep that is...

Bishop had been following his close friend Rowan through the woods for awhile for about an hour when Rowan stopped just outside of a clearing that seemed to have a fire around it and not much else. He noticed Rowan lower himself to a sitting position, and by that he meant Rowan dropped loudly. The entire time he had been following his barbaric friend Rowan had done almost everything except uproot a large tree (he got a small one) to get through the forest. Well, he thought to himself, Rowan was never one for subtlety.
He crept nearer to his friend making sure to not make any noise and to keep his tall frame low to the ground, close enough to hear his friend snoring...what a great tracker. Didn't surprise him though, he had seen Rowan sit on the ground now for almost 5 minutes so it was about time for him to slumber as he always does. As soon as he was close enough to touch him he abruptly grabbed the barbarians shoulder waking him which sent Rowan's fist towards Bishop's head. Bishop expected this and caught it in his own hand and with his other hand he put his hand over the brute's mouth to prevent him from yelling which of course made the sleepy giant even more agitated and alarmed.
As Rowan tried to defend himself from the make belief attacker, Bishop tried to calm him quietly. Finally Bishop frustrated that Rowan was attacking him in the dark (he didn't fault him he knew it would happen knowing Rowan) he grabbed the ring that hung in his nose and sharply whispered, "Rowan! It's Bishop, calm down."
"Oh I didn't know it was you Bishop, sorry," the giant apologized.
"It's alright I kinda wanted to startle you just for fun. So what do we have going on here, looks from here like 2 youngings out here alone," he pulled the hood back from his head to look closer, "what do you want to do with these two out here in our woods Rowan?"
"Rowan? "
"Rowan!" he whispered sharply again as Rowan swung at him again after falling asleep...

Ematai was sitting humming for a while, occasionally popping berries in her mouth. She was enjoying the woods. The starry night sky, the crickets, the random thrashing around in the woods behind her. Ematai stopped humming at that precise moment she heard something in the woods behind her. It was too much noise for any woodland creatures.
"Human," Ematai whispered. She quickly stood up and motioned to Peasant, who was also watching in the direction of the commotion. He nodded to Ematai's gestures and stood up. He picked up his sword and went into the woods, ready to circle around the people while Ematai came at them from the front.
Ematai gripped her sword tighter in her right hand and started forwards in the woods. She stepped away from her fire and walked as quietly as she could towards the noise. When she got close enough to see darkened figures on the ground she spoke up.
"I know you are there. Who are you? Why are you here?" She squinted at them, waiting for her night vision to come to her. She soon saw a tall figured squatted on the ground next to a larger figure that seemed to be laying down. After a few seconds she realized that she was hearing snoring. Ematai raised an eyebrow but kept her stance while moving a little forward quietly.

After feeding on his latest catch, a medium-sized fox that found him through a path that he had been watching for the past few days, Lampir was beginning to rest from the hunt, as his meal filled his stomach in a way that he hadn't felt in a week.
His breath, now full of raw meat, instead of the usual stail, rotten animal that has sat between his teeth since the last moon, appeared in the cold night, as the stars slowly came out from the shadow of the now-set sun.
Lampir sounds a nasty howl, mixed with the voice of a mortal, and the mouth of a wolf. He lays down, waiting for the distant sounds of his next meal...

Rowan sits up, still confused and ready to fight. He notices his warlord, Bishop; kneeling next to him. "Hey ... I told you I dont like being surprised awake. I might have hurt you or..." Thats when Rowan realized that Bshop was beside him, he didnt know the young, tall man followed him... again. Rowan isnt the smartest man in this world, to say he was clever would be an insult to the spoken word. Rowan does one thing well though, and that is war. He hears the slight tin sound of the girls sword being brought up.. not her yelling that she knew they were there though and with speed belieing his bulk, Rowan is on his feet and one of his many weapons is in hand. "Psst... Bishop, the girl has her sword pointed at us... what ever should we do?" Sarchasm drips from the large mans words as he spins a large blood covered club casually and adjusts his shields stap. "Make your move lil' girl... Im not a man to hit a wee girl, but if you come at me, you'll learn to better guess your future foes. Me and my boss here are just moveing though... yeah, moving through. And... I ... umm... Bishop, you talk."

Bishop takes a moment to size up the situation quickly. Rowan is groggy so may not be ready to fight yet...but then again Rowan is groggy which means he's ready to fight. He was rather unarmed so it seemed. He had his sword on his back hidden by his thick cloak and a mace at his side, suitable for the possible worse outcome of the situation. From what he could tell the two he had stumbled upon were still rather young. He couldn't possibly lie to his conscience enough to provoke them to the a fight even though he was in the mood for one...he considered his options.
He pulled back up the hood on his cloak and motioned for Rowan to follow and gave the sign to have weapons ready...but not visible. As they walked foward Bishop shifted his club to behind him away from his side for a quick draw and barely even noticed Rowan's club disappear into the billowing folds of his pants.
He breathed deep and exhaled. It was a chill night, enough to see your breath which always calmed him. He loved the summer nights in the steppes. Even though his summer nights were like most people's falls that lived to the south in Fangorn or Mittelmarch. As he approaced he pulled some rolled leaf from his sleeve and a match and lit it. The smell filled the air around him. He knew the light from the end of the leaf would make his facial features impossible to see in the darkness though. His plan was that of a simple one...just intimidate and pass through and see what was going on in his woods.
As he got closer the young girl noticably tightened and got her feet into a stance to fight the approaching stranger. Her companion drew close also drawing his weapons. He walked up calmly and with Rowan right next to him walked up close enough that the girl's edge his chest and made a clinking sound against his mail shirt. With his left hand he placed his gauntlet on the young man's sword and pushed it down to his side. His hope was that seeing two fully armored men in the night nearly twice their size might change the minds of the two. That and he knew that he had other friends in the woods that night...

Ematai narrowed her eyes when the bigger one spoke. He sounded older, and looked older. The other one got up too. They were both taller than her, looking to be more experienced in their stance. She panicked for a quick second then slowly breathed out. She could make it through the night.
She realized her chances of surviving the night were even better when they approached her, no weapons visible. She knew they had them close by at an easy grab, but they had no intention to attack her or Peasant.
When the taller one got closer, his lighted leaf obscuring his face, she lowered her sword, mimicking the motion that was being forced upon Peasant's. She smiled slightly as she gazed up at the two men.
"Why have you hidden if you were just passing through?" she commanded of them. They could be warriors of Llorrac and know of her. She knew that if they came to collect her for the reward, she would fight them, most likely to her death. Anything would be better than going to the Castle of Llorrac. She shuttered slightly at that thinking.

Peasant just... kinda stands there, an exhausted and confused look on his face. He is too tired to care.

"Well I'm not sure that Rowan here could ever be accused of hiding and I was only following him since I was keeping watch over the woods tonight and I was curious as to where one of my brothers was going. Your turn now...what are you doing out this late and in my woods?"

Ematai noticed Peasant's lack of energy, his unfightingness about him. She frowned and wondered if it was because of his injuries and the fight earlier. She glanced over at him, wondering if she should ask them for mercy so he can rest. She decided he could stand for a few more moments though. She must talk with these men, one of which was named Rowan.
"Your woods? How, pray tell, are these your woods?" She wondered why he would consider these his woods. The only explanation would be that he was part of Llorrac. A very scary thought indeed.

Rowan streaches and yawns, getting tired of stareing at two small people who obviously dont know who we are.
"We are the Dragoons Little girlie. You's gotta know us."
Rowan taps the bloodstained sash at his waist. The sash that bares the white cross of the Legion of the Dragoons, mercinaries and defenders of the area.
A small chuckle excapes rowans lips as he sees the small man-boy by the girls side follow suit in his yawn.
