Kinda viking-esk but harsher, something that only the tough could handle.

whoa. A lot of freakin' snow. Whatever happened to our lovely little hot spring area? Or is this outside the hotspring area?
but isn't the steppes kinda like a tundra, which is too cold for snow or whatever? It just has frost, right?

Even nerdier: I vaguely remember that part of Diablo. Looks like I'm going to have to reinstall and beat it again...

The way I was picturing most of the Steppes in which we actually operate as pretty much like that D2: Act 5 pic. However, I also pictured that there would be hot springs here and there around which villages would have grown up, and probably the Dragoon encampment itself would be at the heart of the largest of these slightly warmer areas. These scattered "slightly warmer" areas would of course have vegetation, woods, snow, and so on, not like the trundric frozen wastes through which one would travel between them. Even animals would be fairly scarce out in the middle of nowhere, but nearer to the hotspring areas there would be wild animals and all sorts of peril for camping on a journey between the villages and Dragoon Encampment. So pretty much I was envisioning ALL of the stuff described here, because most lands aren't exclusively any one type of terrain...even deserts have oasis. ;-)
Anyway, I'd honestly love to help with an NS map if you guys would have me; especially since I sort of added a point to it by creating Gwaerengraith. :-D
