As you and some of you might have discovered at the Big O (after borrowing Smog's drum for about half an hour), is that I, Malek Grigori Darkhaven of the Northern Steppes, have indeed been hiding some of my talents from everyone. I am...(face like an alcoholic at a meeting) *ahem*...I'm a bard. There, I said it, a bard. I can hide myself no longer. I am an Initiate of the ancient and mysterious bardic order known as the Mystic Brotherhood of the Watchers. Alas, my cover has been blown.
Thus, currently residing in the Northern Steppes on some *ahem*...business matters (tries to look innocent)...I have decided that it is my duty and my honor to represent the Northern Steppes as its Chief Bard, if it will have me. I have been in contact with brother Baethor of Mittelmarch inquiring as to the status of the Bardic Guild of the Land Between the Lands (i.e. if it exists or if he needs assistance starting it, since he's most qualified from what I've seen!) and to inquire about his assistance in organizing some entertainment both at our event, and also for a grand display of feasting festivities for the Land Between the Lands at Ragnarok -- ranging from games of chance and strategy to campfire storytellers, merchants, artisans, crafters, performers, herbalists, cartographers, jesters, and....well musicians of course!
As Chief Bard of the Northern Steppes, I would of course represent you all upon the Northern Steppes Council, assisting in matters of the mundane, such as public relations (both with other realms and with random mundane passers by at practices or events), heralding, cooking (which I've been informed by some I'm rather good), and recruitment. However, such efforts cannot happen alone.
Therefore, with consent of you, the people of the Northern Steppes, I'd like to take on this position and start a little game for you all, inspired by the "Curious?" thread. For all who wish to participate (and likely, upon consent of the council, earn themselves some hero points along the way), the game is simple. Creatively as possible generate traffic to our website and to our practices. For instance, telling your friends about Dag while at a coffee shop will learn you 0 hero points. Telling your friends about Dag while wearing full gear and makeup and staying completely "in character" while you're out at IHOP might very well earn you 5 hero points. Building a Final Fantasy style steam-powered airship and sailing it around Fort Wayne with our website address posted on it...well priceless, that would probably earn you my position if you beat me to it! *winks*
Thoughts? Objections? Inqueries?
