So!
You've come out to practice a few times, had a pretty good time, and have decided this might be a fun new hobby!
The question begs...
"Now what?!"
Step 1: Make your own weapons.
This is a rite of passage everyone has to make. Loaner weapons are, well, loaners until you have time to make your own weapon. How do I do that?

This has all the information you could ever want on how to make your basic arms.
If you keep your ears open, there's also a chance we will be having weapon build "parties" soon where you can get some advice on building stuff as well as all the mats in one place as well as a chance to meet some new folks.
Step 2: Making some garb (costume)!
As silly as it seems, garb is actually a MAJOR part of this game! If you venture to any event (not a practice) the hosts of the event will probably not let you fight unless you are dressed to at least the minimum garb requirements. We tend to be a bit lenient on garb at practices but this is something you should look into making right after you have some of your own equipment.
Need some starting ideas on what to make?
The simplest way to get started on this is to run to a Walmart and pick up some scrub medical pants. They are cheap, made of cotton, and will save you time on making a pair of pants.
The upper body is a bit more labor intensive, but still can be as simple as just making a tunic and a belt. That's it. The longer you decide to do this, the more you may want into putting more time into garb, and eventually, armor!
Step 3: Read up on your rules!
Though you know the basics and you will probably learn the most just by going out and having a good time, its good to through the rules at least once or twice to answer any questions that may still be lingering in your head.

Step 4: Keep coming out!
See ya on the field!
