wow! I guess user has alot to do with it... I personally am very agressive with my shield. I would shatter a styrofoam shield in a few fights.

I dunno, I suppose. She's not exactly gentle with it, as I'm sure you've seen of her.

Well, the shield has been created. Since DAP hit it like Alien blood on a space marine's face, I used double sided carpet tape. I have seen the boards stating that in really cold weather the tape doesn't adhere well, but I really wanted to see what I could do with my first shield. A couple layers of camp foam, some duct tape, an old sheet from Salvation Army ... and ta-da. One medium sized, strap on heater. Hopefully it survives a few battles.
I took some excellent photos of it to show everyone, but I am unable to locate the cable that hooks my camera up to the computer.

I wish you well on the construct, but I also attempted something like this last December. Sadly it never made it out my garage until May but it held up through maybe...4 practices and 1 marginally larger than practice "event". Styrofoam DSCT'd to blue foam, cardboard backed...but it was a punch. Hope your's lasts better . Or at least serves as the learning platform you needed.
