There's a lot of ways to do it man. Without redoing a pommel...probably your best bet is soldering wire. The gray stuff. Or magnetic tape (sold in crafting sections).
You can take either, wrap tight little circles up at the base of your blade or down at the top of the pommel and then grip tape over it good....or just run the length of your handle, up to your preference.

Some of the guys soldering wire (part lead) to counter weight their weapons. Personally, I have used craft magnets, they come in strips that you can cut up. I lay them along the handle to oblong the grip and add weight. The oblonged grip helps with swords and knowing that you have the striking surface facing the right way. Others have used cut masonry nails. They have a flat triangular shape. Metal bar stock and pennies have also been used. If you don't mind removing your pommel and used a hollow core such as PVC you can put a bolt wrapped in duct tape in the handle end and secure it to the core. On a side note, if you haven't yet, check out www.dagorhir.com/forums. There is a collection of a few years worth of Dag information from around the country here.

If the wire is only around the handle and not in the pommel area, it does not need covered with foam. You just need to make it comfortable for your hand.
With the crafting magnets I like to put two or three layers of duct tape and then a layer of hockey tape. Some use Wilson tennis grip tape.

12 oz is the minimum weight for weapons that are shorter than 48 inches. At 48 inches and longer the minimum weight is 24 oz.
I have a club that is similar to Militis'. Mine is about 39 inches long and weights in at 16 ounces. It is built on a graphite golf club core. Note: golf club cores are prone to breaking. I don't know the specifics of Militis' mace.
The weighted one from warlord sports meets the minimum weight requirement for Dagorhir rules. 690 grams is just over 24 oz. I have not used any of their gear and can't vouch for them meeting other Dagorhir rule requirements. The Kitespar cores are widely used by other realms. I don't know if anyone in the Steppes uses it.

Remember anything over '48 MUST have the weight of a red weapon to pass weapon inspection. In my opinion, a '36 is "generally" a great length for a long weapon.

Graphite golf clubs break unless you have years of experience to know how not to break them. Even then someone may Red your weapon when your not looking and crack it, or weapon block your shot and break it, or you may hit too hard on a leg and break it... i could go on as I have broke them in all those ways.
Usually* the longer your weapon the slower the swing, 1/2 in PVC is lighter but cant get over 26'' without risking flex fail 3/4 in PVC can handle 36" but it is too hard to balance the pommel weight
Get golf lag pole or kite-spar
(*Usually: does not apply to those of unearthly strength and reflexes)
