A graphite shaft is great for a shorter club, as we discussed. Keep it with-in the 30-34 and you "shouldn't" snap it too soon. Remember NOT to use Duct tape on ANY striking surfaces of the weapon. And check out the tutorials on the main Dag site for tips! Good Luck man!

alright when you say keep it within 30-34 inches, does that mean the shaft length or the shaft with the foam over it? and i know i know i took the duct tape off the striking surfaces of my swords already also i think im just going to try to make them at practice sunday as long as the weather cooporates and thats fine with you? im not very good at weapon making so i figured with all the vets there they could give me tips and stuff.

As long as its dry, you can build at the park for all we care.

I suggest going with the graphite for the club core and PVC for the flail core. Though, I will admit that I have no experience with golf flag. If it is your first one, use PVC because it is cheap. Learn from it. On the second go round, use the good materials. Rebuilding weapons and/or upgrading to new ones is a constant in this game. Foam was not made to last forever.
1/2" PVC would probably be fine. I have some swords in the 28" - 31" range cored with 1/2".
If you have 24" of core + 1" pommel padding + 1" tip padding + 4" of rope/cloth connection (it will stretch) + 5" minimum diameter of flail head (calculated from minimum circumference) = 35" total length of flail.
If you want a core in the 30"+ length you might want to step up to 3/4" PVC.

alright well the club is mainly what i want the length on, the flail's shaft can be shorter since all of the extra length is added with the chain and flail head.. but im mainly going to focus on the club this sunday and if i can get the flail in ill try.
Also what should i bring to cut a graphite shaft? and what other tools will i need besides a tape measure, straight edge, scissors, knife, and brushes

hack-saw for most of your cutting of cores. PVC cutters are nice if you plan to use much PVC. Also a small amount of masking tape is helpful to prevent splintering for when you cut fiberglass, graphite or kite-spar. Just a single wrap around where you're going to cut, keeps your cut end all nice and together.

Counter weight... yes you can, if you want. Minimum weight on a blue is 12 oz. so you may need to. Some people like their clubs to be slightly more realistic and have very little counter weight so the striking end is heavy like a big club would be.
Rocks, yes you can make them out of scrap blue foam. Mine are made out of chopped up scrap (about 1 cubic centimeter in size). I bought some thin nylons (socks) at Dollar General. I think they came in a 3 pair pack for a few dollars. 1. chop up foam 2. stuff into sock 3. spin sock like a bread bag (only once or twice otherwise the knotted area will be a hard bump in your rock) 4. fold sock over on itself 5. repeat 3. and 4. until sock is used up 6. check size (rock diameter must be larger than 4" (must weigh less than 1.5 lbs, shouldn't be a problem) - If rock is undersized, undo sock and add more foam. 7. use as little cloth/hockey tape as possible to make sure sock will not come undone 8. done, go bump some heads with your new weapon of mass destruction.

you should only have to put one layer. The foam you got from milli is the same foam that people use for arrow heads.

Yes. Two layers of blue foam to cap it and set up the base, then one layer of the gray computer foam for the stab tip.

club is about done just need to add stabby tip then put the covers over it... also for rocks would stretchy book covers be good instead of socks?
