Elik wants armor. What kind of leather should he get exactly?

Saddle Sides is what you want. 13/15 oz leather. Usually on sale 3-4 times a year. Don't get armor bends, it's like 16oz+, equivalent to building form fitting armor outta plywood. Link forth coming. Edit: www.tandyleatherfactory.com/home/department/Leather/9047-02.aspx?feature=Product_3Their sale is up to $99 a side. A skinny bastard like you, prolly get 2 full sets out of a side though, depending on design. DO NOT skimp and get the "lightweight" saddle side. It's too thin, it STARTS at 12oz and drops, usually in the 8oz range. Unless your design hinges on layering. .... then I guess you could use one.

Also hit me up about tools. Me and Zero bought the hole punches, the edge planer, and several bottles of dye, most of that jazz.
Maybe even work out I could pick you / you two up and come over, work on it in the garage; if you didn't have a place to there.

I got the deluxe startup kit, it was on special for $60, usually $200! So I'll be working on learning me some detailing stuff soon (stamping, stitching, etc.). Gimme the winter; next summer I'll be able to start working on your belts, pouches, wallets, etc. and maybe by 2012 I'll be able to do hand-stitched helms and such like Shatty. :-)
