Alright Northern Steppes, here's the deal if you are going to Ragnarok and want to get your NS street cred (Hero Points).
After checking in at Troll, and gettnig yourself settled in, you will need to check in with me to get your points. If you arrive to Ragnarok to attend the entire week, and you want to get your full amount of Hero Points for the week, you have until 5pm Monday to find me at the Defenders of the Land camp (if I am on the field, I can't record you, but I will be more than happy to leave the field and go back to camp if someone sends for me). Don't ask me where the camp is, I will have no idea until I'm there. Ask around, I'm sure they might have an idea at Troll, if not ask around some camps if anyone knows where Anvil or the Defenders camp is. Or better yet, if you see a Defender (green field, black stripe, gold stars), ask where Wulf is. I'm giving everyone a full day grace period just because it can be a bit chaotic to remember to go check in with someone at another camp.
If you arrive AFTER 5pm on Monday, you may still get partial Ragnarok attendence credit. You have until 10am Sunday morning on the close of Ragnarok to check in with me -- this includes you, fellow quartermasters and glorious elders or the realm! If you DO NOT check in with ME before you leave Ragnarok, whether we saw you on the field or not, you WILL NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE receive credit for attending. I will be giving the attendence sheet to Osric before I leave to record in the NS records, so if your name and badge is not on that list, then you won't get your hero points no matter how much you whine to the elders, you have plenty of time to do it.
To check in, bring your Ragnarok badge. I'll record your Dag name, either partial or full attendence, and your badge number.
Also, remember at Ragnarok, you may test for proficiencies on EVERY DAY you attend, so I will set up something with the other quartermasters and our elders on times and places that you can meet and test. Since I believe I am the only quartermaster there until Friday, I should have a schedule set up for prof testing when you come check in. We might pull a few people who do not hold NS proficiencies to fight you in the tests, simply because we may not have enough NS present to do them otherwise on most days. We will do our best to pick people of the appropriate proficiency levels for the tests.
If you arrive to Ragnarok and have yet to determine a camp location, let me know this when you check in and I will try to find you somewhere to camp (probably with Free Cities in merc row, or in an area of unclaimed land).
Remember to bring everything you need for Ragnarok. I have compiled a small (but not necessarily comprehensive checklist) of things you will find necessary at Rag (particularly if you are there more than 2 nights):
That's about it. Feel free to post any other tips, suggestions, questions, etc. Looking foward to seeing everyone at Ragnarok XXVI!
Edit: Fixed my error about Free Cities.

Remember to bring everything you need for Ragnarok. I have compiled a small (but not necessarily comprehensive checklist) of things you will find necessary at Rag (particularly if you are there more than 2 nights):
- GARB GARB GARB and more GARB - the more you can bring, the better, have some you can just work around camp in, be it a simple tunic and sweats or whathaveyou, and have some for visiting other camps, have some for feasting, and have a few sets if possible for fighting in.
- MONEY - There are merchants, food on site, and you might want to run down the road somewhere for laundry at some point. You'll maybe want to run into town for restaurants, or you may just need a snack from the kitchen. You may even need some extra cash for some firewood. So make sure to bring an extra $50-100 in cash and bury it under your tent. If you plan to cook all your own meals with grub you brought that will keep, smell like deer urine, not buy a darn thing on site, and use your extra garb for firewood, you can ignore the money recommendation. Otherwise, you should bring extra cash.
- Extra socks - good for soaked feet if it rains, or an emergency weapon cover.
- Quick weapon repair kit - half a roll of grip tape, some duct tape, a needle and thread, some blue foam scraps, and some know-how will get you a long way if your weapon fails or is damaged!
- Camping supplies - a tent, sleeping bag, extra waterproofing (a canvas tarp for instance), some dry ration to snack on in the afternoon or late night, a couple jugs of clean water, personal hygiene equipment, cooking gear, etc. bring what you know you need, and bring extra, because you will likely find it isn't enough.
- Period eating utensils - if you plan to feast with any other camps, this is a must.
- Head cover, sunscreen, hand-fans, and anything to stay cool with - Rag gets notoriously HOT. It's best to have as much period or invisible water-resistant protection as possible from the scortching heat of Sol Invictus.
That's about it. Feel free to post any other tips, suggestions, questions, etc. Looking foward to seeing everyone at Ragnarok XXVI!
