Bringing up something Peasant posted a while ago, but I never saw any replies to, is the use of a Heater restricted to a certain group of people? Or is it ok to make one?
Pretty much what's going on is, I've still got my old SCA shield lying about, and I looked at it the other day and thought to myself, "Hey...That would make a real nice strap shield....". The only thing is, I remembered someone asking about Heaters on here, and it just so happens to be a Heater, hence the reason I'm asking.....
One other thing, everywhere I look, people are saying to put open cell foam on the front and sides of a cored shield....Is this mandatory, or just standard practice? J/W.

You neeed to have at least two layers of "blue foam" on the front and rim or sides of the shield.

Ahk, that works. i'm guessing the open cell is just to make a shield bash more comfy? I might put an inch or so on the front, i dunno yet...
