Alright so I am thinking about making a chain mail shirt, my question is, would anyone happen to have any idea what kind of materials I will need to make it, as well as maybe getting a little help with it? Thanks!

For some basic ideas on types of shirts try www.theringlord.com. It is always cheeper to make your own, it is very, very time consumeing though.

Ok, but my quesiton is when out on the field, what do you suggest? Because I know that the armor takes 1 hit, but would chainmail take 2 or just 1? Which in the case its 1, I will then just move down to leather or something of the sort.

All armour is one hit & it's broken. Doesn't matter if it's metal or leather. It's all the same. The only difference is how it looks.

Everything is 1, but you'll make a lot of the national guys happy if you make good metal instead of leather.
Shameless plug:
If you wear a size medium shirt, I got a 14gauge butted chainmaille shirt sitting here, premade. Owner got tired of replacing rings (butted is just smashed together ends, held together by tensile strength and a prayer) after battles, but I'll pass it along cheap (because I'd require a 3x).
If you want to make your own, I still got 1/4 mile of 14g galvanized steel wire in the shed + the spindle to create your rolled rings + the cutters to make the rings, I'd be happy to unload as well.
/plug.

Size unknown, as I said, he said if you can wear a medium T-shirt, you can wear this. I didn't weave it, just helped cut rings.
Will you be at practice this coming sunday? Or down to BSU this saturday? I can bring it out and you can check it out.

Awesome, Ft. Wayne is about an hour and half drive for me so Sunday's are all I can swing as well. Yah, I'd rather talk money with you there, don't like doing business sight unseen; even as the seller. Plus the old addage: "My prices are directly proportional to your attitude".
Ematai is hosting a weapons building session @ BSU, in Muncie, 12noon on Saturday. Leading into their normal practice @ 3pm.

Hey I need to pick your brain about the spiral wrapping of blue foam about narrow cores, if I could ^_^. Areshorsacktap: would you interested in the materials to make your own coils / weave your own rings?
