Not trying to be a d bag here but we might wanna check out people's gear/credentials before we let them out on the field with one of the more dangerous weapons in dag. There was an archer out this past sunday that during the whole 1 hr I was there I heard multiple complaints (myself included) of her arrows hitting hard potentially due to not 1/2 drawing in a confined 2-3 man wide 10 ft ish long corridor which was the only area I fought in. Multiple people were complaining of hard hits to the face in said face and after a couple kinda nasty ones, one in particular involved me in which I was shot from less than 5 ft away has left my left eye swollen. After I said to watch your half draw there was no apology just the telling to me that she was way under. Some people that witnessed said she was closer to full. I don't know where her draw was...but that my eye is swollen which hasn't happened in over 8 yrs of fighting. When someone asked for her arrows ( I think they were hers might have been BWC's) to be checked I saw that she was the one being shot which is also against the rules and MO. Drac I believe went over to mention it should be done a different way and I don't know what happened after that.
Once again this is not my d bag voice/pissed off voice (although I'm not happy about my eye)/daddy pants voice. This is my we should check people out before they get a bow and arrow and get to shoot people 10 ft away.

I completely agree. Thats why I always wanted archers to recite the rules of archery combat from the Dag MoA before taking the field.

Valen, from middle earth, Gheldar's daughter using my arrows and bow. I'm sorry you were hurt and I will do everything I can to be sure my gear is more face friendly. She's been arching a very long time, so I checked my gear on her back. Probably a bad corner on a bad angle at a bit close on the perfect spot on your eye. Again I'm sorry.
The multitude of people saying they were hurt I don't understand, people need to know that they can call a stop at any time and have any weapon checked after the first time they are hurt. People don't need to suffer through multiple painful shots, only to notify the archer or have the gear checked at the end of the day.

In Bishop's defense, she did give him lip when he made a reasonable comment to her.

K, well im not sure bishop needs defending. Bishop- "After I said to watch your half draw there was no apology just the telling to me that she was way under" I think he covered that. I never said he was wrong I was just explaining the situation from what I saw.

In the heat of battle tempers flare. I can get all riled up. However, everyone must understand that the comments made, sometimes in a aggressive manor, are not necessarily personal attacks.
Safety is still the number one order of business on the field, and if someone says our weapon or manner of play has crossed the line then we must work to understand why as opposed to blowing the comment off and continuing in the same manner.
A repeat of the unsafe issue should be addressed immediately and taken off the field where people can address the problem in a respectful manner without the urgency of combat straining the communication. No one wants to stop fighting, but this is the better way to handle things than b!tching back on forth on the field and accomplishing nothing. I didn't do anything of the sort at the time, but in the future, I will try to help in said manner.

"Safety is still the number one order of business on the field, and if someone says our weapon or manner of play has crossed the line then we must work to understand why as opposed to blowing the comment off and continuing in the same manner. " Duke
This doesn't need to be a big deal and I'm sorry if me posting it made it a big deal and the lack of foresight is my fault. Duke is correct though, its just like hit taking...if someone says some stuff hurt/hit you, you respond in a way that is better for the game, not you. You get your stuff checked, you check it yourself, you get someone else to check it/you take the hit and rez.
After someone made a mention it after the battle the stuff was checked and I think now you guys know not to have that person/user be the testee.
Archery is easily the most dangerous aspect of our game and whether someone has been arching/fighting for a long time/short time doesn't mean they do it correctly. I'm not saying people we don't know can't arch...but we do need to make mental notes to make sure they are following the rules for safety.
This doesn't need to a big deal, we just need to watch out for stuff in the future and be a lil proactive.
