Typical Materials
Wal-mart
1. "D.A.P" brand woodweld (red can) 1 quart $10
2. "Blue foam" blue camp matt, 2ft by 6ft. by 1/2in $6
3. "cloth" cheap fabric $2 per yard (socks make cheap covers)
4. "cord" Nylon rope $4 25 ft (draw strings flail cords etc.)
5. Tape: Duck tape, grip tape, strapping tape... wow,not listing all the kinds of tape used $2-$8
6. "PVC" Description below. Usaually 1/2 or 3/4 inch cold water pipe (white) 8ft is $1.50 (use a store pvc cutter to split in half, just tell the clerk so you aren't double billed)

Flail Head- no core, "chain" (rope, fishing line, etc)
1. varyous sized disks of blue from large center out to small ends,
2. nerf footbal core, wraped with blue foam
3. compacted couch foam taped and wraped with 2 layers of blue foam
The Core is the part that makes a weapon special.
All core materials can be rated on between: weight, diameter, price, dead length (flex is too great to use), toughness (how much abuse till it breaks), and shape (difficulty to build with, or limited)
There is no perfect core
1= dont use -- 10= amazing
1/2in PVC: (6) weight, diameter, toughness, shape, and price. (3) dead length @24in
3/4in PVC: (6) toughness dead length@ 32in, shape, and price. (3) diameter and weight.
Schedule 80 PVC: take (3) from weight, add (3) to toughness
graphite Golf Club: (10) weight, diameter, shape, and dead length @?? (Mod Rowan says 28-32 at max). (2) price, and toughness (Buy: goodwill, or garage sales)
2 fiberglass rods: (7) weight, diameter, toughness, dead length. (5) price, (3) shape (Buy: Tractor supply)
Golf flag, or large fiberglass rod: (4) weight (2) price. (9) Toughness, shape, and diameter. (8) dead length @ 4ft
