Here I will put to paper as many of the things I have learned about Rowan Ursis Proudoak. Now understand that alot of this information I have gathered was done at the cost of much mead and whiskey; while listening to elders of the barbarian tribes, town keepers, and even some non-human types tell the tails of Rowan.

As far as I could go back into Rowan's history I found the names of his father's father and that was the last in lineage based history. His Grandfather was a mysterious man named Beorn. I believe this to be the same Beorn that Master Bilbo Baggins wrote of in his tale "There and Back again: A Hobbits Tale".
Rowan's Father is a warrior for the far ranged tribe of the Silver Bear. His father saw the blessing and curse that Rowan's grandfather's blood had passed to him, and sent him to find his own way in life.
Rowan spent his formative years wandering around the lands, some even say that he spent almost five years living in Mirkwood alone. Rowan has been noted to have spent a few years with the people of Rohan and even ventured all the way to Beleriand.
It was during the time of Portals that Rowan was dropped into the Northern Steppes. His previous barbarian life helped him gain reputation and a home among the harsh peoples here in the Lands Between the Lands. It was at the guidance of a sage named Miley that he found the Legion of the Dragoons.
Rowan took to the mercenary lifestyle very quickly and found that he was a more effective fighter when he had people to lead him, as any who have met him will tell you, Rowan isn't the quickest of thinkers when made to be on his own.
And now I will end this introduction of Rowan until a later time when I will tell the tale of his first death, and when the knowledge of his grandfathers curse was made present.
