Anyone have some good advice or online resources on how to oval or square a weapon handle? I found my sword twisting round on me a lot and want to avoid the dangerous flat side of weapon hits.
Currently working on axe and all though the axe heads weight will keep the right edge forward I want to oval the handle as well.
I'm thinking about simply using two grooved pieces of scrap wood on either side of pvc handle then hockey taping it but any guidance would be appreciated.

If you want an oval grip, I would layer grip tape on the two angles you want over a popcicle stick. Then tightly wrap it all in hocky / grip tape to make it more "gripable" it might add a lil' wieght, but thats fine.

What core are you working with? Making a square handle over a square piece of fiberglass is much easier than a round piece of PVC.
A lot of people put steel bar stock under their handle, for weight; and it will also beef up and make your handle squarish. I use magnetic tape and rope for a squarer handle. Cover rope in hockey grip tape.
An oval handle can be achieved by running a length of rope down the underside of your handle (and top side, if you wish to make it bigger) then wrap in rope.
Always the option of going through the trouble of carving wooden dowel into a handle.
